Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2018 is the more accessible sibling to the legendary Monte Bello, drawn from the same prized Monte Bello vineyard but crafted from younger vines. The blend stays close to the classic estate style, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, while offering a more approachable drinking window than its famous counterpart. In other words, it delivers true Ridge pedigree with impressive early charm.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a dark, almost opaque color with a violet hue. On the nose, it opens with aromas of blueberry, cassis, licorice, cola, and a gentle sweetness from the oak. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, with flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry, freshly roasted coffee beans, pencil lead, and sweet tobacco. It already drinks beautifully now, but should continue to gain nuance with a few more years in bottle if you prefer a more integrated and layered expression.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from the Monte Bello vineyards in California, sourced from younger vines on this historic site. All clusters are destemmed before pressing, and after fermentation the wine matures for 20 months in American oak barrels, with a little over half of them new. This approach adds structure, spice, and a subtle sweet oak character while preserving the clarity of the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, or rich dishes with mushrooms and black pepper. It also works well with aged cheddar or other hard, savory cheeses. Best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opened young to allow the wine to fully unfold.
