Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2019 37,5CL

Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2019 is essentially the younger, more approachable sibling of the legendary Monte Bello, made from the very same estate vineyard in California. Crafted mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon with supporting Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, it offers classic Ridge precision, depth, and balance, but in a style that is ready to enjoy much sooner than Monte Bello.

In the glass, this Cabernet shows a deep, dark color with a subtle violet edge. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of blueberry, cassis, liquorice, cola, and a touch of sweet oak. On the palate it is full-bodied and elegant, with ripe blackberry, cherry, freshly roasted coffee beans, pencil lead, and sweet tobacco building into a long, polished finish. The wine already shows excellent harmony and immediate drinkability, but it also has the structure and concentration to develop further in bottle over the coming years. For those who love the Monte Bello style but prefer something more open in its youth, this is a particularly rewarding choice.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit for Estate 2019 comes from Monte Bello Vineyard in California, sourced from younger vines on the same site that produces Ridge’s flagship Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are fully destemmed before fermentation, and after vinification the wine is aged for 20 months in American oak barrels, with just over half of them new, giving the wine its subtle spice, sweetness, and defined structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, braised short ribs, or hard aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and if possible, give it some time in a decanter to let the aromatics open and the wine soften a little further.
