Ridge Vineyards Estate Chardonnay 2022 is a standout Californian white that offers an elegant glimpse into the character of the famed Monte Bello Vineyard. Sourced from the same site and crafted with the same meticulous care as the estate’s top Chardonnay, this wine comes from younger vines, making it a more accessible expression of Ridge’s signature style without sacrificing pedigree or precision.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a beautiful straw-yellow hue that hints at its richness and freshness. The nose is generously layered with citrus, pineapple, melon, honeysuckle, and a subtle touch of vanilla, creating an inviting balance of fruit and oak. On the palate, the wine is full and expressive, yet lifted by a vibrant freshness that keeps everything in focus. Flavors of citrus, apple, pear, crushed stones, and vanilla unfold in a refined, lingering finish. While already highly enjoyable, it also has the structure to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from the Monte Bello Vineyard in California, a high-quality site known for its distinctive terroir and ability to produce wines with depth, freshness, and mineral tension. The fruit is hand-harvested, and winemaker Eric Baugher presses the whole clusters directly, with no destemming, to preserve purity and texture. After fermentation, the wine matures for 14 months in American oak barrels, including 10% new oak, giving it subtle complexity and a polished frame.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, butter-poached lobster, grilled salmon, creamy pasta dishes, and shellfish. It is best served slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, and does not require decanting, though a little time in the glass will allow its aromas to open further.
