In the glass, Raven No. 5 2006 shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration and power. The nose unfolds with blackberries, black plum, peppery spice, leather, smoke, violets, and a subtle mineral edge, creating a perfume that is both opulent and complex. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety, and firmly structured, with ripe tannins, vivid acidity, and layers of dark fruit, savory spice, and smoky nuance. It finishes long and persistent, with the balance and concentration to age gracefully for many years, gaining further complexity as it matures.

This wine is sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites in California, where low yields and meticulous vineyard work help produce Syrah of exceptional concentration and flavor intensity. The blend includes Syrah with small portions of Grenache and other Rhône grapes, adding lift, structure, and aromatic complexity, while precise harvesting and vinification preserve the wine’s depth, purity, and signature tension.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Syrah pairs beautifully with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb shoulder, venison, or roasted mushrooms with herbs. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if drinking now, as this will help open its aromatic layers and soften its powerful structure.
