Vinosia Primitivo di Manduria Orus 2023 is a bold and characterful red from one of Puglia’s most celebrated appellations. Made from Primitivo grown in the sun-drenched south of Italy, it offers the ripe intensity, smooth texture, and generous fruit that have made Manduria one of the benchmark homes for the grape.

In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby to garnet hue, hinting at its concentration. The nose leans into dark cherry, plum, blackberry, and sweet spice, often with subtle notes of cocoa, dried herbs, and a touch of Mediterranean warmth. On the palate, it is usually full-bodied and plush, with ripe black fruit, supple tannins, and a rounded, velvety finish. Primitivo di Manduria is known for its immediate appeal, but a good example can also gain nuance over a few years in bottle, developing more earthy, spice-driven complexity while retaining its rich fruit core.

Viininvalmistus
Primitivo di Manduria comes from the hot, dry landscapes of southern Apulia, where warm days, cooling breezes, and limestone-rich soils help the grapes achieve full ripeness while preserving balance. Harvest is typically carried out with care to ensure the fruit is picked at optimal maturity, reflecting the variety’s naturally generous style. Vinification is usually aimed at drawing out deep colour, ripe fruit, and smooth tannins, with aging used to add structure and polish without masking the grape’s expressive character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled and roasted meats, lamb, slow-cooked beef, rich tomato-based pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. It is also a natural match for hearty Mediterranean cuisine and dishes with herbs, garlic, and a touch of spice. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes can help open up the aromas and soften the wine’s youthful edges.
