Weingut Hiedler Pinot Noir Käferberg Reserve 2021 is a finely sculpted Austrian Pinot Noir from one of Kamptal’s most celebrated parcels, Ried Käferberg in Langenlois. Made for lovers of Burgundy-inspired elegance with a distinctly cooler, mineral-driven Austrian character, it combines depth, precision, and remarkable ageing potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Reserve Pinot Noir shows a polished, expressive profile with bright red fruit at its core. The nose is layered and refined, offering red forest berries and cherry, lifted by subtle herbal notes and a delicate hint of smoky oak. On the palate, it is cool, elegant, and focused, with juicy, well-integrated tannins and a precise line of acidity. The finish is mineral and lightly salty, adding to its sense of tension and purity. Built for the cellar, it has the structure and freshness to evolve beautifully over many years, with optimal ageing potential of more than 18 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Ried Käferberg, a prestigious hillside vineyard near Langenlois in Kamptal, where calcareous soils and higher elevation contribute to concentration, freshness, and a pronounced mineral edge. The harvest is carried out by hand in late September at full ripeness. After gentle destemming, fermentation takes place over about two weeks in small fermentation vats, with manual punch-downs and a portion of whole clusters added for balance. The wine is then matured in medium-sized French oak barrels, typically of first and second use, for more than two years, followed by six months in bottle. It is produced without fining or filtration to preserve texture and terroir expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes that complement its finesse and savory complexity, such as duck breast, roast quail, mushroom risotto, game birds, or herb-roasted salmon. Serve it at 14–16°C, and consider decanting for around 30–60 minutes if enjoyed young to open up its aromatic layers and soften its structure.
