The nose unfolds slowly with blackberries, blueberries, spice, licorice, leather, and earthy hints of truffle, all layered with remarkable precision. On the palate, it is richly textured and full-bodied, driven by Mourvèdre’s intensity and supported by polished tannins, freshness, and superb balance. The finish is long and persistent, leaving impressions of ripe dark fruit, mineral depth, and savory complexity. Produced in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône, this wine comes from vineyards shaped by the region’s sun-soaked climate, stony soils, and cooling influences that help preserve freshness. The blend is built around Mourvèdre, with Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault contributing fragrance, structure, and complexity. Harvesting is typically done with great care, and vinification at Beaucastel is focused on preserving purity, balance, and the expressive character of each grape variety.

This is a natural partner for dishes with depth and richness, such as roasted lamb, game, beef ribeye, wild mushroom dishes, or slow-braised meats with herbs and olives. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for several hours if drinking now to allow the wine to fully open and show its layered aromas and texture.
