Château Pegau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Maclura 2023 is a vivid example of Southern Rhône wine at its most approachable, combining generosity, freshness, and real character. Crafted by Laurence Féraud, the cuvée carries the hallmark depth and rustic elegance of Domaine du Pegau, while offering a more accessible and easygoing expression of the region’s style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, inviting ruby-red color. The nose is expressive and sun-kissed, with notes of ripe red cherries, wild berries, garrigue herbs, licorice, pepper, and dried flowers. On the palate, Maclura 2023 is supple and generous, with juicy fruit, smooth tannins, and a lively freshness that keeps everything in balance. The finish is warm, gently spiced, and appetizing. It is enjoyable now for its immediate charm, but it also has the structure to develop nicely over the next 3–5 years.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in the Rhône region from a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah/Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, this wine reflects the sun-drenched terroir of Southern Rhône with its aromatic herbs, ripeness, and natural warmth. The grapes are typically harvested to preserve both freshness and full phenolic ripeness, allowing for a balanced, fruit-driven style. Vinification is carried out to emphasize the wine’s supple texture, expressive fruit, and regional spice character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile red that works beautifully with grilled meats, Provençal dishes, roast chicken, tapas, and Mediterranean fare with herbs and tomato. Serve it slightly cool, around 16–18°C, to bring out its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is optional, but a short aeration can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
