Cheval des Andes 2021

Cheval des Andes 2021 is a refined Argentine red that brings together the precision of Bordeaux and the character of Mendoza in one impressive bottle. Created through the collaboration between Château Cheval Blanc and Terrazas de los Andes, it combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot to deliver depth, elegance, and a distinctly modern sense of balance.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, concentrated color that hints at the wine’s richness and structure. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe blackberry, cherry, and plum leading the way, followed by floral notes of violet, subtle tobacco, and a touch of cedar. The palate is beautifully composed, with juicy dark fruit, fresh acidity, and finely woven spice wrapping around silky tannins. Malbec brings plushness and vibrancy, Cabernet Sauvignon adds backbone and grip, while Petit Verdot contributes extra color and nuance. The finish is long and polished, and the wine has the structure to age gracefully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Cheval des Andes comes from high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, where the dry climate, abundant sunshine, and marked day-to-night temperature shifts help preserve freshness while developing concentrated flavor. The combination of altitude and low rainfall creates ideal conditions for grapes with intensity and balance, and the 2021 vintage benefited from a relatively cool growing season that supported finesse and structure. Vinification is carried out to highlight purity of fruit, texture, and complexity, with careful blending of the three varieties to achieve harmony.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent partner for grilled ribeye, slow-roasted lamb, braised short ribs, or rich dishes with earthy mushroom notes. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about an hour if you want to bring out its full aromatic range and soften the tannins.
