Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2019 300CL

Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2019 is a benchmark California red and one of the most celebrated Zinfandel-based wines in the country. First produced in 1966, it comes from one of Ridge’s most historic vineyards, with some parcels containing vines that are up to 130 years old, bringing remarkable depth, complexity, and authenticity to every vintage.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby hue that hints at its intensity. The nose offers dark cherry, spice, cola, mint, and a subtle earthy note, creating a layered and inviting aromatic profile. The palate is packed with dark fruit and lifted by flavors of pomegranate, rose petal, cocoa, and a touch of smoke on the long finish. Despite its richness, the wine remains beautifully balanced, with enough structure and freshness to age gracefully for several years.

Viininvalmistus
Geyserville Vineyard is planted on historic old vines in California, with some of Ridge’s oldest parcels contributing to the blend. Zinfandel makes up around 70% of the cuvée, supported by Carignan, Petite Sirah, and Alicante Bouschet, depending slightly on the vintage. The wine is aged for 13 months in American oak, with only about 10% new barrels, allowing the fruit and vineyard character to remain at the forefront.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile food wine that works especially well with grilled meats, barbecue, braised beef, roast lamb, and richly seasoned dishes. It also pairs beautifully with hard cheeses or dishes with smoky, slightly sweet elements. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended to let the aromas fully open.
