Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2022 is one of California’s most iconic Zinfandel-based wines, celebrated for its consistency, complexity, and outstanding critical reputation. First released in 1966, it comes from some of Ridge’s oldest vines, with parcels reaching up to 130 years of age, and the 2022 vintage continues that legacy with remarkable balance and depth.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deep ruby-red wine with impressive concentration. The nose opens with dark cherries, spice, cola, mint, and a subtle earthy note, giving it both immediacy and complexity. The palate is layered with dark fruit, pomegranate, rose petal, cocoa, and a gentle whiff of smoke on the long finish. Despite its richness, the wine stays beautifully composed, with freshness and structure that suggest it will continue to develop well over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Geyserville Vineyard in California is home to some of Ridge’s oldest vines, grown on historic parcels that contribute character, intensity, and finesse to the blend. The wine is typically led by Zinfandel, with Carignan, Petite Sirah, and Alicante Bouschet adding color, structure, and depth. It is matured for 13 months in American oak, with only about 10% new barrels, allowing the fruit and old-vine expression to remain at the forefront.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a natural match for grilled or roasted meats, barbecue, braised short ribs, and richly seasoned dishes like lamb with herbs or peppery sausages. It also works well with hard aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes to let the aromatic layers and old-vine character fully open up.
