Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs 2019 is one of California’s most iconic Zinfandel-based blends, sourced from the historic Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. With a signature mix of Zinfandel, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Petite Sirah, it combines power, depth and old-vine character in a style that has made this cuvée a benchmark since 1972.

In the glass, the wine shows a very dark, concentrated color that hints at its richness. The nose opens with ripe blackberry, blood orange, pepper, liquorice, tobacco leaf and dried flowers, creating an aromatic profile that is both intense and layered. On the palate, it is expansive and full-bodied, repeating those same notes in wave after wave of flavor. There is plenty of fruit, spice and structure here, balanced by freshness and a savory edge that keeps everything lively. This is a wine with serious presence and the kind of depth that suggests it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley offers warm California conditions and a site well suited to bold, old-vine field blends. The fruit was sustainably farmed and destemmed before fermentation, then matured in American oak barrels, with 10% new oak and the remainder in barrels aged between one and four years, helping preserve the vineyard’s character while adding subtle spice and structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for grilled or roasted meats, barbecue, lamb, braised short ribs and richly seasoned dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromas to open and the palate to soften.
